EVENT PROCEDURES:

1.)  GTPOMMA requires a pull back tractor and blade weighing 1000# or more at each event. The pull sight must furnish this equipment.

2.)  Local classes at the sponsored event may make their own rules, but tractors must pass a safety inspection by GTPOMMA safety officials before hooking to a GTPOMMA sled.

3.)  Admission fees to the event will be determined by the sponsors of the event.

4.)  No trophies will be given by GTPOMMA at sanctioned pulls.  Sponsors of events may award trophies if they choose to.

Age Requirements:

1.)  Pullers under the age of 16:  Parents must sign a responsibility waiver.

2.)  Pullers under the age of 10:   One adult is required to walk alongside tractor.   Safety officer will determine if the driver is qualified to handle the tractor in a safe manner.

3.)  Pullers in the mini rod class must possess a valid driver’s license.

No one under the age of 18 will be allowed to work on or around the sled and scales.

Inspection:

1.)  Safety Officers will inspect all tractors at the play pulls or before allowing tractor to pull at the first pull attended.

2.)  Tractor will be marked and signed off on by the safety official and the puller to verify it passed inspection.

3.)  Possible random fuel checks for every class at every contract pull.

Sign In:

1.)  Table will be set up and ready to sign tractors/pullers in one hour before scheduled pull time.

2.)  All pullers will sign in by the name of puller and the tractor name.

3.)  Sign in will close 30 minutes before the scheduled time of pull.

Exceptions will be made in case of road emergency and evaluated on case by case basis with approval of the President of the association.

Scales:

1.)  Scales will be placed in close proximity to sled.

2.)  Scales will open one hour before scheduled pull time for the operators to check the weight of their equipment and make necessary adjustments.

3.)  Scales will close to all but the class pulling 15 minutes before the first class starts to allow the garden tractors sufficient time to line up for the official weigh-in just before pulling.

4.)  After scales close for pull time the only tractors that need to be in line to weigh are the tractors that are getting ready to pull.

5.)  Weight bars must be pushed in before crossing the scales.

6.)  Zero tolerance will be allowed on weight overage.  Tractors will be weighed just prior to hooking to the sled.  Underage will be the operator option.

Line Up Board:

1.)  Pullers will be responsible to check the line up board or sheet for the order of the tractors for the pull.

2.)  1st class will start lining up and getting ready to weigh in 15 minutes before the scheduled start time.

3.)  1st puller in the class will be weighed and ready to hook by the start time, next puller will be ready to weigh.

5.)  All pullers in a class will be lined up and ready to pull by the time the class starts.

PULL-OFF RULES:

This is when any of the competitors pull past the full pull mark, if one is available, they get to re-hook and pull-off against each other.  If you disqualify during this you automatically drop to the next place of the pull off competitors.

Sled and Tractor:

1.)  Chain length from sled will be 33".

2.)  No portion of the tractor may interfere with the chain of the sled during the pull.

3.)  Chain and kill switch cable must be easily hook-able without interference.

4.)  Once the tractor is hooked, in gear and ready to pull, the driver will be the only person allowed to touch the tractor and start it up the track. Adult helping the puller under the age of 16 cannot be touching the tractor after it is hooked and in gear.

5.)  If any tractor is having problems (i.e., won't start, carburetor needs adjustment, flat or low tire, etc) and it is the tractor's turn to pull, the driver may elect to drop to the last position in the class.  If all tractors have pulled and you still are not in position, you will have 3 minutes to get into position or be disqualified.

6.)  The 1st puller in each class is the "TEST PULLER", this puller can decline that pull only while still hooked to the sled. The puller must notify the flagman at this time and tell the flagman if they wish to re-pull in the 3rd or last position of that class.  If the 1st tractor goes out of bounds, the puller still has the option to re-pull.

7.)  Tractors that pull 75 feet or less have the option of a second pull and must tell the flagman at the time of the unhook if they wish to pull again, and if they will move to pull in 3rd or last position.

8.)  If a driver raises his/her hand to indicate that they want to stop and re-pull before the 75 foot mark and the tractor coasts by the 75 foot mark, the tractor will be allowed to re-pull.

9.)  If the first two pullers go out the gate, the sled will be reweighed or the sled speed will be changed. The class will restart, with the 1st puller having the option to be the 1st hook or drop to the last position in the class that is pulling.

10.)  The tractor has to stay within the boundaries of the track during the pull or it will be disqualified (i.e. If a tractor tire has chalk on it etc.)

11.)  If two or more pullers pull out of the gate for a full pull, a pull-off will be held after the last tractor in that class has pulled. The puller will only hook one time, and there will be no options to re-hook in the pull-off (i.e. in a pull off if the tractor only pulls 70 feet, that will be your distance).

12.)  If there is a tie for first place, there will be a pull off.

13.)  If there is a tie for second place, they will split the 2nd and 3rd place money.

14.)  The pull for the tractor will not end until the tractor is unhooked from the sled.  Unhooking will not occur until the forward motion of the sled stops or when the sled goes beyond the end of the track (out of the gate).

15.)  Pullers and flagman should hold digging of the track by the tractor to a minimum.

16.)  The driver must remain in the seat of the tractor and at least one hand on the steering wheel at all times or they will be disqualified.

17.)  A puller attempting to pull before proper signal of flagman will be disqualified.

18.)  If any part of the tractor, apparatus of the tractor or the driver falls off during the pull, the tractor will be disqualified. There is no distance consideration, the tractor will be disqualified (the exception of the 1st puller in the class, who will be allowed to refuse the pull and re-pull in the 3rd or last place of the class).

19.)  All tractors must be operated in a safe manner at all times.

20.)  All tractor pullers/operators must wear the required safety equipment (See safety requirements and special requirements in individuals classes).
Shirt and shoes are required during all pulls.

21.)  To encourage spectator attendance and family participation, there will be no loud profanity, fighting or arguments allowed on the premises by our members during the pulls. Individuals acting in such a manner will not be allowed to pull and will be asked to leave. This will be strictly enforced at all times.
